Classic Cocktails
343 drinks · Updated October 2026
Classic cocktails are the drinks bartenders have made for generations, most of them from the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. Many follow a few simple templates. The Old Fashioned combines spirit, sugar, bitters and water from dilution. Sours like the Daiquiri and Whiskey Sour pair a spirit with citrus and sugar. The Martini and Manhattan stir a spirit with vermouth. The Negroni, equal parts gin, Campari and sweet vermouth, has become one of the most ordered classics of recent decades. Every drink on this page is credited to its origin where it is known.
